Hi there, I'm Cam Allen!

I'm a postdoc studying AI with Stuart Russell at the Center for Human-Compatible Artificial Intelligence (CHAI) at UC Berkeley. Prior to CHAI, I completed my PhD at Brown University, advised by George Konidaris.

I study how intelligent systems can make effective decisions under resource constraints. My expertise is mainly in various types of abstraction methods for reinforcement learning and planning. I'm especially interested in exploring how abstractions can help tackle problems in value alignment, interpretability, and bounded optimality.
